Right after I posted my last blog I got ridiculously sick and spent Thanksgiving in a sort of dehydrated, buggy way. Not that that accounts for my 6 months of absence. No that is due completely to grad school and being too tired otherwise to do anything else but veg out when I didnt have class. But besides that last little hitch its been a great 6 months. Somehow I have already lived in Charleston for an entire year and even more surprising, made it through a year of grad school. This has been a year of incredible growth for me- emotionally, spiritually, stress wise. I have met some amazing people who have had an incredible impact on me and become such dear friends. I saw the end of the cool new years glass with the 2 zeros. I ran my first 10k (and fell while doing it, natch). I went back to college one weekend for formal. I went to Africa (more on that later). I decided I never really want to leave this place and its become home. I have been encouraged by this verse which I keep by my door: "Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of you mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing, and perfect will." Romans 12:2. I'm not quite sure where exactly I am going but I know it is going to be good. A friend gave me this quote and its how I'm trying to live my life... "Time is the treasure of live. Time is life. Time is the willing sacrifice that you offer up to the worship of what you love. Don't tell me what you love. Tell me where you spend your time and I'll tell you what you love." Martha Kilpatrick. Basically I'm learning that I love Facebook and silly sites way to much and not connecting with friends beyond the newsfeed enough. Hopefully this will keep changing and it wont take me 6 months to post another blog.
So without further adieu, here is the past 6 months in photo form.
